Coordinate with Forensics, A&E, Protection colleagues, and the Syria Missing Coordination Cell.
Engage externally with organizations managing relevant data repositories and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
Support protection staff with documentation efforts and provide supplementary analysis of priority events to monitor trends.
Identify, verify, and analyze digital material including geolocation and source assessment to produce analytical outputs like incident reports, relational charts, and timelines.
Triangulate open source intelligence findings with internal case data and external forensic information to generate and validate leads.
Proactively identify and respond to leads on missing persons, advising on potential sources including electronic and social media, witnesses, telecommunications data, and archives.
Implement and advance open-source research methodologies, ensuring adherence to professional standards and ICRC NIIHA approach.
Monitor and analyze open-source information on missing persons and protection cases to provide updated analytical insights.
