Data Analyst for Search Team – Protection Sector

Key Responsibilities

  • Support other departments as necessary within the organization.
  • Work closely with wider Search Teams across Amman, Damascus, and Beirut and contributing to data science and AI projects for Protection work.
  • Engage with external organizations acting as repositories of relevant data and key stakeholders involved with missing persons cases.

Analytical Duties

  • Identify, verify, and analyze digital material including geolocation, chronolocation, and source assessment.
  • Produce clear analytical outputs like incident reports, notes, relational charts, and timelines supporting the Search Team.
  • Triangulate findings with internal and external data to generate and validate leads on missing persons.
  • Advise on potential information sources including social media, witnesses, telecommunications data, and archives.
  • Apply and enhance open-source research methodologies adhering to professional standards.
  • Monitor and analyze open-source information for the missing persons caseload and protection insights.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal teams across locations and protection business process owners.
  • Coordinate with external bodies and data repositories involved in missing persons cases.
